Brown Bears on the Baikal Shore
An early-summer wildlife voyage from Irkutsk to Olkhon
About
BBT created this early-June journey around the season when brown bears visit Baikal’s northwestern shoreline to feed near the water. A chartered Sarma hydrofoil carries the group from Olkhon toward the bear coast, with observation from the water rather than an intrusive landing. Russian Siberian history and Buryat cultural meetings frame the expedition, while four nights on Olkhon, a reserve day and a private banya programme keep the wildlife focus balanced with time to recover.
